The Basilica of Saint Mary Magdalene in Vézelay is a UNESCO-listed masterpiece of Romanesque art.

This majestic 12th century building impresses with its impressive carvings, especially on the tympanum, gates and capitals. It is famous for an unusual light phenomenon - a 'path of light' that appears on the floor between June 20 and 30 at noon.
