Description
The Basilica of the Congregation is one of the most important historical and artistic monuments in Braga. Also known as the Sé de Braga, this impressive Catholic church combines Gothic, Moorish, Manueline and Baroque styles, reflecting its rich history dating back to the 3rd century AD.
The interior impresses with three naves, a transept and five eastern chapels. The Manueline-style main chapel and Baroque decorations create a unique atmosphere. Particularly impressive are the wooden carved choir stalls dating from 1737 and the two gilded organs, considered among the finest woodcarving works in Portugal.
