Description
Rathaus-Glockenspiel is a fascinating mechanical clock located on the tower of the New Town Hall in Munich.
It is a true masterpiece of technology with 43 bells and 32 life-size figures that play two historical events every day: a knight's tournament to celebrate the wedding of Prince William V and a traditional cooper's dance to commemorate the end of the plague epidemic of 1517.
The performance lasts about 15 minutes and attracts crowds of spectators. It is not only a tourist attraction, but also a symbol of Bavarian culture and tradition that delights adults and children alike.
