Description

Queens Zoo is a unique place in the heart of New York City where you can enjoy animals from the Americas in naturally arranged enclosures.

The specially designed space allows you to observe the animals in conditions close to their natural habitat. Walking through the birdhouse, you can admire colorful birds up close, and meet alpacas, goats and other domestic animals in the farm section.

The zoo also offers interactive educational programs and a Conservation Quest exhibit that takes a closer look at the conservation of endangered species.

avatarGustave Badiea week agoTook my two kids to the Queens Zoo a few days ago. We really like the Queens zoo because it’s on the smaller side (vs. the Bronx’s zoo) and mostly shaded, which made it really comfortable to walk around on a hot Summer day. The kids loved seeing all the animals, and we were lucky to catch the sea lion feeding just as we arrived. We didn’t get to see the coyotes who were probably hiding in the shaded areas, but we saw everything else. After the zoo, we walked across the road to the farm area and spent some extra time feeding the animals there, a perfect way to end the visit. Definitely recommend for a nice family outing.

avatarWedad Elbazia month ago8 . . -Queens Zoo is a small, thoughtfully designed zoo celebrating American wildlife, conservation, and family-friendly fun—housed in a former World's Fair pavilion with engaging habitats and educational programs. It’s a peaceful oasis and an excellent complement to other Queens attractions. Queens Zoo is only about 11–18 acres, much smaller than places like the Bronx Zoo (265+ acres). With that limited size, the zoo simply doesn’t have the room to house a large number or variety of animals. I do recommend it, kids lives feeding the sheep's and the goats 🐐
