Located at 1002.5 meters above sea level, the mountain is topped by the 30-meter-high Friedrichsturm observation tower, built in 1890 from red sandstone.
The tower offers a breathtaking panorama of the northern Black Forest, and on clear days you can even see the peaks of the Swiss Alps. The site is an excellent starting point for hiking, being connected to numerous hiking trails, including the famous Westweg.
