Praia da Batata

Praia da Batata is the most central beach in Lagos, located between the Ponta da Bandeira fortress and Praia dos Estudantes. This charming bay with golden sand and crystal clear waters is ideal for families thanks to its calm waters.

The name 'Potato Beach' comes from the legend of a potato-carrying ship that sank nearby, dumping potatoes on the shore.

The beach offers lifeguards during the summer season, a beach bar and water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding. You can walk through the tunnel to the neighboring Praia dos Estudantes beach, creating a scenic coastal walk.
