Description

Warnham Local Nature Reserve is a charming nature reserve with a 17-acre pond as its focal point.

It's a bird lover's paradise with five special observation points where you can view kingfishers, herons and many other species. The diversity of habitats - from grasslands to ancient forests - makes it home to more than 3,000 species of plants and animals.

The history of the site dates back to the 13th century, when a blacksmith shop and later a mill operated here. Children will love the Discovery Trail with interesting facts about nature, and adults will appreciate the tranquility and beauty of this unique corner.

avatarRoad Trip Treasurea month agoFantastic place, well beyond what I expected and what is advertised. Starting from the free parking, the excellent facilities right through to the cafe and visitor centre. Then on into the reserve which is unbelievably well managed. Species identification signs everywhere, clear paths, solid and sturdy well built bridges and hides. What you see bird wise is luck of the draw, but I don't think anyone will be disappointed. As for insects and plants, well that's another thing entirely. All I suggest is bring a camera and have fun!
avatarGeoff Poynter3 months agoFabulous place for a walk and great for bird watching. Big car park and a great little cafe serving tea and coffee. Well worth a visit
avatarPaul R8 months agoHighly recommend this nature reserve has a tea room, and an information centre, with plenty of parking. There is always a whiteboard with all the recent sightings listed. So much opportunity to see different birds close up in the various hides, it has a large lake, and paths through the woods with wooden walkways across wet areas. It's £4 per person or you can buy an annual pass.
