Description

The Bledowska Desert is the largest area of volatile sands in Central Europe, extending over an area of about 33 km².

This unique ecosystem was created by melting glaciers 2-3 million years ago, and was later exposed by medieval logging and mining activities.

The place impresses with dunes reaching 30 meters high, rare species of plants and animals, and the phenomena of fatamorgana. The desert is divided into two parts by the valley of the Biała Przemsza River, and the best vantage points are on the Czubatka and Dabrowka hills.
