Description
The Pokljuka Gorge is the largest fossil gorge in Slovenia, carved by a former glacial outflow. This natural wonder impresses with steep limestone walls reaching 50 meters high and narrow passages that create a magical scenery.
The biggest attractions are the 22-meter-high Pokljuška luknja waterfall and an impressive natural bridge extending 24 meters above the ground. The area is famous for its rich biodiversity, especially ferns that grow luxuriantly in the humid, cool climate.
It's an ideal place for lovers of photography, hiking and wildlife. Be sure to bring sturdy trekking shoes and a camera!
