Description
National Trust - Watlington Hill is a picturesque hill that is part of the Chiltern Escarpment, offering breathtaking views of the Oxfordshire Plain.
It's a site of great natural interest, with distinctive chalk grassland resembling a golf course and home to up to 25 species of butterflies, including rare species like the coridonid praying mantis.
On the hill is the famous triangular White Mark, carved into the chalk slope in 1764, creating the illusion of a tower for Normandy's St. Leonard's Church. An ideal place to walk, observe nature and enjoy the historic landscape.
