Island Mainau

Island Mainau is a 45-hectare botanical garden located on Lake Constance in southwestern Germany. This charming island delights with more than a million flowers a year, including tulips, roses and dahlias.

The island is home to an impressive Baroque palace dating back to 1746 and one of Germany's largest butterfly houses. Thematic gardens, such as an Italian rose garden and a Mediterranean terrace with exotic plants, create a fairy-tale setting.

Families will enjoy the 'Waterworld' and 'Dwarf Village' playgrounds, and nature lovers will appreciate the collection of more than 1,200 orchids in the palm house.
