Hallett Nature Sanctuary is a hidden gem in the heart of New York City's Central Park. This 4-acre nature preserve offers a unique oasis of tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle of the metropolis.

It is the only completely fenced natural area in the park, providing an exclusive experience of communing with nature. The place is famous for its diversity of native plant species and is a paradise for bird lovers.

After closing in 1934 as a bird sanctuary, it reopened in 2016 after careful restoration. Now you can admire the rustically crafted wooden gates, scenic vantage points and benches for meditation.
