Description
Dovžan Gorge is a protected natural monument where time stopped 300 million years ago. Colorful, steep rock walls hide fossils of prehistoric corals, and the Tržiška Bistrica River has carved spectacular cascades and vertical rock towers.
An educational trail leads through Slovenia's longest series of waterfalls, a tunnel, and a bridge, offering a "journey through time" older than the dinosaurs. For the more adventurous, there is the more difficult Bence trail with ropes and rungs, and for climbers, there are the six Kušpegar towers.
