Description
The Ajuda Palace is a neoclassical Lisbon treasure that will transport you into the world of Portuguese royalty. Built in the first half of the 19th century, it served as the official royal residence until the fall of the monarchy in 1910.
The palace's interiors impress with authentic chambers from the 19th century, rich collections of decorative arts, gold, silver, furniture and paintings. A real gem is the Royal Treasury Museum, where you can admire the Portuguese crown jewels and the second largest gold nugget in the world.
