Pomnik "Cara Wyzwoliciela"

The 'Tsar Liberator' monument is an impressive monument in downtown Sofia, commemorating Tsar Alexander II's role in Bulgaria's liberation from Ottoman rule.

Unveiled in 1907 in the presence of King Ferdinand I, it depicts the tsar sitting on a horse, made of bronze on a granite pedestal.

It is not only a symbol of gratitude to the Bulgarian people, but also an excellent landmark when visiting the capital. It is located on National Assembly Square, in the heart of the historic center of the city, making it a must-see on any tour of Sofia.
