Description
Penny Bridge is one of the most beautiful pedestrian bridges in Poland, also known as the Green Bridge or the Bridge of Lovers. This Art Nouveau, two-span metal bridge from 1894 hangs over the Młynówka canal in Opole.
It owes its name to the one penny that was once charged as a toll for crossing. Today the bridge is famous for its hundreds of padlocks engraved with the initials and names of couples, symbolizing eternal love.
It is the perfect place for a romantic stroll, where you can enjoy picturesque views of the Old Town and the Młynówka canal.
