Description
The Teutonic Castle - Ruins is one of the oldest and most peculiar historical monuments in Poland. It was originally a watchtower from 1266, which was later transformed into a wooden castle that was burned down during the Lithuanian invasion of 1370.
Today's stone and brick ruins preserve the first floor walls of the three wings, along with some of the internal divisions and pillars. Thanks to an audio installation, visitors can immerse themselves in history by listening to narration and music that captures the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
It's the perfect place for history buffs and families looking for an educational adventure in northeastern Poland.
