Description
Fort No. II Mierzwiączka Deblin Fortress is a fascinating military monument from the 19th century, part of the Deblin fortification complex.
Built between 1837 and 1847 during the Russian partition, the fort played a significant role in the January Uprising and during World Wars I and II. During World War II it served as a prisoner of war camp, Stalag 307 and Oflag 77, where prisoners of war from various countries were held.
Today it is an excellent place for lovers of history and military architecture. The well-preserved fortifications allow you to learn about the defense techniques of the era and travel back in time to the turbulent events of Poland's past.
