Swiecie Castle Ruins - Sword Castle is a fascinating monument of medieval Gothic architecture dating back to the 14th century.
Erected by the Teutonic Knights on a 50 x 50 meter square plan, it impresses with its impressive 34.2 meter high tower with nine stories. The best preserved are the northern wing with its western watchtower and eastern sacristy tower.
The castle has witnessed numerous sieges and served various functions, from being the seat of bishops to a place of detention for the clergy. Situated picturesquely on the Vistula and Wda rivers, it is an ideal place for history and architecture lovers.
