Description
The bunker at the Soviet-German Line is a fascinating military monument from World War II. It is part of the Molotov Line, a system of fortifications built by the Soviet Union between 1940 and 1941 along the border with Nazi Germany after the partition of Poland.
The reinforced concrete structure with thick walls and ceilings was designed to withstand artillery fire. Some of the bunkers, like the one in Załuż, became famous for their heroic defense during Operation Barbarossa.
Today, these partially overgrown structures are a remarkable attraction for history and military enthusiasts, offering a unique glimpse into Poland's turbulent history.
