Description
Calshot Beach is a charming pebble beach stretching along a mile-long spit of land at the mouth of Southampton Water into the Solent Strait.
It is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts - windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing. The Calshot Activity Center also offers climbing, dry-slope skiing and a cycling track.
The site enjoys panoramic views of the Solent Strait, Southampton and the Isle of Wight. A historical touch is the 16th-century Calshot Castle, built by Henry VIII.
The surrounding salt marshes are home to numerous species of birds and wildlife, making this location ideal for nature lovers.
