Planty

Planty is a charming park surrounding Krakow's Old Town, created on the site of the former defensive walls. This 4-kilometer-long green ring is divided into eight differently styled gardens, where you can admire monuments, fountains and historic architectural elements.

It's the perfect place to take an hour-long stroll among the trees and flowers, with numerous benches inviting you to relax. The planty hides many historical surprises - fragments of medieval fortifications, a neo-Gothic seminary or a 17th-century bishop's palace.

The park is a favorite spot for students, strollers and history buffs, offering shade on hot days and picturesque views at any time of the year.
