Description
The Petr Kružić Staircase is a historical monument in Rijeka, built in 1531 as a votive offering to the Church of Our Lady on Trsat.
The initial 118 steps have grown over the centuries to an impressive 561 stairs, connecting the city center to the Trsat district.
It is not only a testament to Croatian Marian devotion and a place of pilgrimage, but also a point offering breathtaking views of Rijeka and the Gulf of Kvarner.
It's worth bringing comfortable shoes and water - the climb is steep, but the views of the city skyline and the Adriatic Sea fully reward the effort.
