Sacsayhuamán

Sacsayhuamán is an impressive Incan fortress located on a hill above Cusco, Peru. This monumental structure of gigantic stone blocks, perfectly fitted without mortar, still amazes today with its precision workmanship and engineering craftsmanship.

The zigzag-shaped defensive walls stretch for more than 400 meters and reach 6 meters in height. According to local legends, the complex was shaped like a puma's head, and Cusco itself was its body.
