Paxmal

Paxmal is a remarkable, non-religious peace monument created by Swiss artist and pacifist Karl Bickel between 1924 and 1949. Located on a mountainside, it offers breathtaking views of the Churfirsten mountain range and Lake Walensee.

The inner and outer walls are decorated with murals depicting earthly and spiritual life. The left wall shows the human couple in their existence and development, love and procreation, while the right wall is dedicated to spiritual life.

This quiet, peaceful place is ideal for inner recollection, contemplation and meditation, encouraging reflection on personal and social development.
