Parroquia de San Ginés

Parroquia de San Ginés is a gem of sacred architecture in the heart of Arrecife, Lanzarote.

This charming church, built of dark volcanic stone and whitewashed, combines mudéjar and late Baroque styles. Its history dates back to 1574, when the first chapel was built here, rebuilt in 1667.

The interior impresses with a mudéjar-style wooden ceiling, stained glass windows depicting the saints and valuable works of art, including a painting by Alberto Manrique showing the source of life. The church is dedicated to the town's patron saint, San Ginés.
