Description
Parque Nacional del Este is a nature lover's paradise on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic.
This sprawling 790-square-kilometer park covers both land and sea, including the picturesque islands of Saona, Catalina and Catalinita.
It delights with its rich biodiversity - more than 500 species of flowers, 144 types of birds, and sea turtles, dolphins and manatees. Explore more than 400 caves with mysterious Taino Indian paintings, take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the coral reef or hike the Sendero del Padre Nuestro trail through the subtropical rainforest.
