Description
Palatul Episcopal is an impressive Baroque palace in Oradea, a true jewel of late Austrian Baroque architecture. Designed by Viennese architect Franz Anton Hillebrandt, it is a miniature copy of the famous Belvedere Palace in Vienna.
Built between 1762 and 1777, it impresses with 365 exterior windows and 120 spacious rooms. It now houses a museum with impressive archaeological, ethnographic and art collections, including world-class Neolithic and Bronze Age collections.
It is a place with a rich cultural and musical history, where prominent composers like Michael Haydn once composed.
