Description
Palácio do Raio is an exceptional example of late Baroque architecture in the heart of Braga. This 18th-century palace, designed by André Soares, impresses with its richly decorated facade covered with distinctive blue and white azulejo tiles.
The interior conceals an interactive exhibition showcasing 500 years of the city's history, including exhibits related to the work of the Holy House of Mercy. Particularly noteworthy are the elaborate decorations, including shells, wreaths and garlands, as well as the impressive tiled staircase.
This is the perfect place for lovers of history, art and architecture who appreciate interacting with Portugal's authentic cultural heritage.
