Palace of Schools

The School Palace is a historic complex that is the heart of the University of Coimbra and a UNESCO site. Originally a royal residence dating back to the 12th century, it was converted into part of the university in 1537 and combines Gothic, Manueline, Renaissance and Baroque styles.
