Description

The Pławniowice Palace is an extraordinary monument with a rich history dating back to the 14th century. The current three-winged, two-story building was built between 1882 and 1885, commissioned by Count Francis II Ballestrem.

It is distinguished by its Northern European Neo-Renaissance style with Dutch Neo-Baroque influences and Neo-Gothic ornamentation. The square tower and octagonal corner tower are distinctive features.

The palace is surrounded by a picturesque landscape park, and the complex also includes the chapel of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. After extensive restoration (1993-2000), it regained its former splendor and today is a true gem of Silesian architecture.
