Description
The Krasinski Palace is a jewel of Baroque architecture in the heart of Warsaw. Built between 1688 and 1699 to a design by Tylman van Gameren, this majestic building impresses with its unique layout 'entre cour et jardin' - with a garden on one side and a courtyard on the other.
The palace's interiors are decorated with frescoes by Michelangelo Palloni, and the facade is crowned with bas-reliefs depicting the triumph of a legendary Roman commander. It now houses the valuable collections of the National Library, including manuscripts of Kochanowski, Mickiewicz and Chopin.
The Krasinski Garden, which surrounds the palace, is the perfect place for a moment's respite.
