Description
Oshino Hakkai (the Eight Seas of Oshino) is a unique natural and cultural attraction consisting of eight crystal clear ponds fed by water from the melting snow of Mount Fuji.
Each of the eight ponds has its own spiritual significance and is associated with the Eight Dragon Kings from the Lotus Sutra. The water, filtered through volcanic rocks for many years, is considered one of the purest in Japan.
Surrounded by traditional thatched-roof houses, water mills and scenic paths overlooking Mount Fuji, it creates an unforgettable setting, ideal for contemplation and photography.
