The Oltenia Museum of History and Archaeology is a fascinating journey through the history of the region, housed in a historic 1906 building of a former girls' school.
The museum is divided into three main sections: ethnography, history/archaeology and natural history, each in a separate building. Especially noteworthy is the archaeology section, with exhibits dating back to the early 20th century.
The natural history section on Popa Street features a traditional pottery workshop and a rich natural history collection established in 1923. It is an ideal place for history and nature lovers.
