Old Roar Gill

Old Roar Gill is a unique forest gorge with picturesque waterfalls that make a distinctive roaring sound after heavy rains - hence the place's name.

It is a nature lover's paradise, offering a wealth of rare plants, including ferns, mosses and liverworts. Rare insect and bird species, such as the kingfisher and flycatcher, can be found here.

The path through the forest to the waterfalls takes about 10 minutes, although it can be slippery and muddy after rain. The best time to visit is after a heavy rainfall, when the waterfalls look most spectacular.
