The Bucharest Botanical Garden is a green oasis spread over 17.5 hectares in the heart of the Romanian capital. Founded in 1860 and moved to its current location in 1884, it boasts a stunning collection of more than 10,000 plant species from around the world.

The garden features tropical greenhouses, a Japanese garden and a Brinckova-style botanical museum, which is an architectural gem in its own right. The site survived the devastation of both world wars and today provides not only a valuable educational center, but also a peaceful space for relaxation from the hustle and bustle of the city.
