Description
The University of Helsinki Botanical Garden is a fascinating place with more than 190 years of history. Founded in 1829, it offers 4 hectares of greenery with unique plant collections.
In the greenhouses you can admire tropical plants, including the world's largest seed and an impressive collection of orchids. A special attraction is Victoria cruziana, a plant that survived the destruction of the greenhouses during World War II.
The garden is not only a place for relaxation, but also an important research and educational center, contributing to the conservation of endangered plant species.
