Description
Norway Resistance Museum is a fascinating site dedicated to the Norwegian struggle against the Nazi occupation from 1940-1945. It is located in the historic Akershus Fortress, which itself was the site of Nazi torture and executions.
The museum chronologically depicts the five years of occupation, from the invasion on April 9, 1940 to the liberation on May 8, 1945. The exhibition includes military equipment, photos, documents, newspapers and recordings, presenting both the daily life of citizens and the tragic aspects of the war.
Unique exhibits and personal stories of resistance fighters add a human dimension to this difficult history.
