Papstwiese

Papstwiese is a historic meadow in Donaupark, known as the 'Pope's Meadow'. This unique place gained notoriety in 1983 when Pope John Paul II celebrated Mass here for some 350,000 faithful.

A distinctive feature of the landscape is a 40-meter steel cross weighing 56 tons, restored in 2011. Today Papstwiese is a popular destination for meetings, sports and recreation.

Surrounded by a picturesque park, the meadow offers excellent conditions for walking, jogging and a variety of sports activities. It is the perfect combination of spiritual heritage and opportunities for active recreation.
