Nicole Eisenman, Sketch for a Fountain [Skizze für einen Brunnen] is a unique sculptural installation created at Skulptur Projekte Münster in 2017.
Five larger-than-life-sized, genderless bronze and plaster figures surround a rectangular water pool in a public park. The figures assume various poses - lying, sitting and standing - and water flows out of three of them, creating a peaceful, dreamy atmosphere.
The installation draws on the history of public fountains, introducing a more casual and relaxed approach. Thanks to the efforts of the 'Dein Brunnen für Münster' association, the fountain was permanently installed in 2021.
