Description

The mud volcanoes in Berce are the largest of their kind in Europe, offering extraordinary views and geological wonders of nature.

It's a place where underground gases mix with ground water to create bubbling springs and craters reaching up to 8 meters high. The surreal, lunar landscape attracts photography and nature lovers.

According to local legend, the Arbănaș dragon lives underground - the dry, cracked earth is his skin, and the bubbling mud represents his blood. The area has been protected as a nature reserve since 1924.
