Description
Westgate Gardens is a picturesque park located on the Great Stour River in historic Canterbury. It delights with a 200+ year old oriental plane tree with a distinctive massive trunk and colorful flower arrangements.
The park hides fascinating traces of the past - the remains of a Roman wall and Tower House, a Victorian building once owned by Canterbury's first female mayor.
Here you can relax by the underwater sculpture 'Alluvia', take a boat ride on the river or simply enjoy the tranquility surrounded by nature and history.
