Description
The Jagiellonian University Botanical Garden is the oldest facility of its kind in Poland, founded in 1783.
The garden area is home to some 5,000 species and varieties of plants from around the world, including an impressive collection of palm trees in the historic palm house.
It is not only a place for relaxation, but also a scientific center with a botanical museum containing more than 5,400 specimens. The garden also features an astronomical observatory dating back to 1792 and one of the oldest weather stations in Poland, operating continuously since 1825.
