Monte Palace Tropical Garden is a stunning paradise on Monte Hill with panoramic views of the Bay of Funchal.

In an area of 70,000 m², you'll find more than 100,000 species of plants from all over the world, including rare sagebrush and palm trees and endemic Madeira flora like dragon trees.

It's not only a botanical gem, but also a cultural oasis with an impressive collection of 15th century Portuguese tiles, sculptures and artwork. Walking through the alleys, you'll meet swans, ducks and peacocks, and colorful Asian koi carp in the ponds.
