Iping and Stedham Commons

Iping and Stedham Commons is one of the best examples of lowland heathland in the UK. This 125-acre nature reserve offers an extraordinary experience for nature lovers.

It's a wildlife watcher's paradise - rare species of butterflies, dragonflies and moorland birds like skylarks, the cosseted lark and the wood pipit can be found here. Acidic soils favor the growth of heather, hemlock and pine trees.

The site has been designated as a Dark Sky Discovery Site, making it an ideal spot for stargazing thanks to minimal light pollution. The terrain is flat, but paths can be muddy in winter.
