Description

Finchampstead Ridges is an enchanting corner of nature shaped during the Ice Age. Under the care of the National Trust for over 100 years, this historic area offers breathtaking panoramic views of Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey.

As you wander the moors, you can admire the pink heather that blooms in August and September, and the impressive avenue of sequoias (Wellingtonia trees) planted in 1863. History buffs will appreciate the remains of an ancient Roman road from the 2nd century, known as the 'Devil's Highway.

This is a great place for wildlife watching - lizards, scavengers, birds, butterflies and dragonflies await discovery in this unique ecosystem.
