Description
Ecclesbourne Glen is a unique part of the Hastings Country Park, famous for its ancient gorge forest. This picturesque gorge has a unique microclimate that encourages the growth of rare mosses and liverworts found nowhere else in Europe.
The site also has a rich history - it was the landing point and entrance to an Iron Age fort. In 1819, a coast guard tower was built here, which was later moved to Firehills.
Numerous footpaths allow visitors to explore the natural beauty and observe rare fauna, including an important population of ash trees.
