CHILTERNS NATURE - ASTON ROWANT NATURE RESERVE is a unique nature reserve located on the northwestern slope of the Chiltern Hills, in an area of outstanding scenic beauty.
On 159 hectares you will discover a variety of habitats: limestone meadows full of wildflowers and rare orchids, beech forests and unique juniper thickets.
The reserve is famous for the successful reintroduction of red kites, whose population has grown to about 200 pairs. Nature lovers can admire more than 30 species of butterflies, including rare specimens such as the Adonis prairie butterfly and the raspberry warbler.
As you wander along marked trails, including the unique Sound Path, you'll learn about the fascinating history and ecology of the site.
