Description
National Trust - Mompesson House is an exceptional historic monument in the heart of Salisbury. Built for Sir Thomas Mompesson in the late seventeenth century, this elegant home is resplendent with classic Queen Anne style and high quality Georgian stucco.
Inside, visitors can admire Turnbull's impressive collection of more than 400 18th-century English glassware and the Bessemer-Wright ceramics collection.
An interesting fact is that the house served as a film set in the 1995 film adaptation of 'A Sense and Sensibility'. A beautiful garden with traditional lawn games like croquet provides the perfect place to relax after visiting this remarkable testament to history.
