Description
National Trust - Burrow Mump is a fascinating hill with the ruins of the 18th century St. Michael's Church, located in picturesque Somerset, England.
It's a place full of history - from Roman times, to Norman fortifications, to links with King Alfred the Great. From the top, there is a spectacular view of the vast Somerset Levels and the confluence of the Tone and Parrett rivers.
Interestingly, the church is located on what is known as the ley line, connecting several St. Michael's churches in southwest England. A short, easy walk to the top will reward any lover of history and nature.
